The “10 Design X ULI Philippines: Redefining Public Experience – The Catalyst for Mixed-Use Developments” featured talk and gathering event was successfully held last week in Manila! Our Principals José Silva, Peter Barrett and Barry Shapiro,  shared their insights on challenges and design trends in the sector referencing 10 Design's diverse mixed-use portfolio worldwide.

Mixed-use developments are increasingly facing challenges from economic uncertainty and the ever-evolving market. In particular, the past decade has witnessed drastic social changes led by technological advancement, which has fundamentally altered the ways we live, work, interact socially and with the built environment. From hospitality to retail sectors, developers are seeking to attract visitors through enhanced personal experiences, while in mixed-use developments, unique and diverse public experiences need to be curated if we wish to engage a broader community in the long run.

By showcasing the design thinking behind some of our most successful projects in Asia and internationally, we were able to invite discussion with our distinguished guests and industry peers on the way forward for mixed-use sectors, envisioning a liveable, sustainable and resilient urban environment for our future citizens.
