At this week’s MIPIM, key industry leaders converged on The London Stand for a critical discussion chaired by Marion Baeli (Principal of Sustainability Transformation at 10 Design, part of Egis’ Architecture Line) on ‘How is London going to keep its cool?’.

The leading experts at the panel including Rob Buckley (Global Head of Sustainability at Weston Williamson + Partners), Sascha Lewin (CEO of W.RE), Katie Kopec (International Director at JLL), and Helene Chartier (Director of Urban Planning & Design at C40 Cities) delved into transformative strategies for enhancing London’s resilience within the context of climate change and urban heat island.

They underscored the urgent need to bridge the gap between the industry’s willingness to combat climate change and the execution of tangible, impactful actions. The conversation highlighted the importance of stringent, unified guidelines for sustainability and innovative solutions like creating “green spines,” rejuvenating underground rivers, and developing pocket parks to enhance urban resilience.
