Songshan Lake Campus of The Bay Area University Design Submission

Dongguan, China

10 Design (part of Egis Group) proposed an exemplar scheme for the new Songshan Lake Campus of The Bay Area University in Dongguan, China.  The proposal seeks to define a world-class research and education facility in the city’s technology district.

The vision for the proposed scheme is to create an iconic landmark campus to drive scientific discovery and knowledge exchange for the 21st century. The design team conceived the scheme based on the principle of convergence, by joining multidisciplinary knowledge streams to create an interconnected ecosystem of scientific development and innovation.

The project places nature at the heart of the design approach, providing a sequence of shared courtyards as valuable green and leisure spaces. Songshan Lake Campus offers a balanced work environment that will define The Bay Area University as the benchmark for collaborative scientific education and research.
